Western countries countryside is monopolized by one specific type of houses called ”cle sur porte” (turnkey – urban prefab cluster of similar forms implanted in the landscape without any effort of integration).

Xavier Delory’s project ”Habitat” throws a look at this type of ”architecture”. The concept of protection and stereotype block is pushed to its extremes – similar to our withdrawal into ourselves and our formatted lifes. These photographs will have you intrigued at first, and then terrified. Each shot features a home with absolutely no windows or doors. There is not even a garage.
